The Virginia Biosolids Council is proud to announce a research plot at the Eastern Virginia AREC in Warsaw in the Northern Neck. Eastern Virginia AREC Director Joseph Oakes will manage the research plot, including preparation of the site, planting of cover crops, and land application in early April for a target planting date of soybeans in early May.
Research will focus on soil health and comparisons between soil biosolids land application and plots not land applied. Further analysis will concentrate on plant uptake. Samples will be stored for future comparison. The Virginia Biosolids Council appreciates the opportunity to partner with Virginia Cooperative Extension and Virginia Tech.
